Traditional Welsh Cider
Since 2006, Old Monty Cider has been crafted in
Mid-Wales using only traditional methods and the finest hand-picked apples. In this time we have
won multiple awards for our ciders and perries,
and we currently hold the title of
Champion Cidermaker of Wales.

Meet
Our Ciders
Here at Old Monty we make three traditional ciders, made from a blend of cider apples found at our orchard, such as Michelin, Dabinett, Brown's, Harry Masters Jersey, and many more. Our traditional cider is available with varying sweetness, labelled as High & Dry, Happy Medium, and Sweet Anita. Some of this blended cider is matured in oak barrels to create our Oakey Cokey, with a rich yet subtly oaked flavour.
Kingston Black is one of our single variety ciders, made exclusively of the famous and highly regarded Kingston Black apple.
Our other single variety cider is unique to Old Monty. Camlad is the name of an apple that had been used for
many years in our traditional ciders, but after DNA testing in 2017, we discovered that the variety was unrecorded
and unrecognised as a historic Welsh cider apple. In 2018 we made a very small batch of cider purely of Camlad apples,
the only cidermaker in the world able to do so.
